VINELAND, N.J., October 23, 2001 -- Allied Insurance Services
(AIS) and the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce hosted a seminar
today to educate local business people about Professional Employment
Organizations (PEOs). The seminar was presented by Craig Folkert
from Selective HR Solutions and was held at the Ramada Inn in Vineland.
Todays business owner is faced with more employment
related regulation than ever before, said Folkert. A
PEO, if properly positioned, exists to take that regulatory burden
off of the owners shoulders, provide them with support for
administrative and insurance related tasks and allow for significant
increases in productivity and employee loyalty.
More than 30 local professionals came to hear Folkert outline the
advantages to small businesses that employ PEOs to perform specific,
human resources-related duties, thus allowing the business to focus
on the revenue-producing side of the operation. PEOs can help manage
personnel responsibilities, administer health benefits, serve as
an alternative way to control workers compensation costs,
execute payroll and handle unemployment insurance claims.
We are grateful to Craig for sharing all this information
with our local business community, said Laurie Walters, a
commercial insurance producer with AIS. As a professional
who specializes in working with small businesses, I believe there
is a definite benefit in employing a PEO to minimize expenses and
provide expert service.
